An honest, unpretentious and slightly earthy nose of freshly picked mulberries and tobacco leaf starts to engage the senses. The theme continues with hints of mint on the front palate and fresh tobacco leaf and mulberry notes on the mid palate, ending off with a lingering raw mushroom tour of the forest floor.
A beautiful, elegant expression of a Bordeaux style blend, with unmistakable backbone and an intriguing story line of terroir and wine making. Masculine in core, feminine in expression, this wine will satisfy a diversity of wine palates.
Enjoy with a hearty platter of charcuterie, smoked cheese and fresh fruit.
* Made from the grapes that won the Old Mutual Trophy for Best Cabernet; class winner for best Petit Verdot (unwooded) at the young wines show and a Michelangelo Gold for the Merlot.
