Gompou Petit Verdot 2024 is the maiden vintage of our single variety red wine from Lowerland, our regenerative farm on the banks of the Orange River at Prieska in the Northern Cape. From our certified organic vineyards, the Petit Verdot is deep cherry-plum in colour with a nose of dark fruit compote, hints of nectarine stone and dark, clay-like earthiness. Subtle herbal notes gently offset the richness of the fruit, adding freshness and intrigue. A lengthy palate with black cherry, cassis and black tea flavours on powdery, well-integrated tannins; lively acidity maintains freshness and vibrancy throughout. Calls for bold pairings such as Lowerland’s pasture raised, aged steaks (think Cote du Boeuf) with a salty, crisp side. 14.32% alcohol.
